An evenly packed box makes for a happy mover. The top and bottom of your box should be flat with no bulging or protruding lumps. Fill excess space in your boxes with cushion, towels, or shredded paper to ensure that your items stay in place. Fragile items should be boxed separately. You would never put your antique teacups in a random box and hope for the best! When moving with small, fragile items, try boxing them individually and cushioning them with paper or blankets. Pack Smart. Always pack clothes that are out of season first. They should go at the bottom of your boxes. It’s also important to distribute weight correctly. Your heavy items should go first and lighter items can sit on top. Often, you can create barriers between different sections of your box using cushioned blankets, towels, or even shredded paper. This not only helps to organize your box, but also to prevent its contents from breaking while in transit.
