Tips for Moving from a House to an Apartment.

Posted by Air1Moving

The main issue you will have from moving from a house to an apartment is trimming down all of the stuff you have. More than likely, you will not be able to bring it all with you.

To start your move you will need to assess the situation:

  • How many rooms are in the apartment?
  • What kind of space will you have?
  • As with any move, this is the time to get rid of your excess belongings. Sort through everything to determine what you need, what you want, what you don’t want, and what is going in the garbage.
  • Try to sell off all of the stuff you don’t want that is sellable. Furniture, yard tools, that lawn mower you won’t need anymore.
  • Have a Yard Sale.
  • Donate what you can’t sell to charity or give it to friends, family, and neighbors.
  • Keep the furniture that you can use and that will fit in the apartment.
  • You will have to make use of every inch of storage space in your new apartment. Learn to stack your items in the closet or wherever you can. Hang up everything you can.
  • If you absolutely cannot get rid of your extra stuff, you will have to get a storage unit. Or some nice friends and family members with extra storage space.
